Recipes For Natural Dog Foods and Treats

Most dog treats and dog foods contain fillers that have no nutritional value for your beloved pet. On top of that, a typical box of dog food treats costs $3 to $4. Most people don't realize that you can make your own healthy treats and dog food at home and have twice as much for less than you would pay at a pet store.

Here are some easy recipes for natural dog foods and treats:

Peanut Butter Biscuits
4 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups oatmeal
1/2 to 3/4 cup peanut butter
2 1/2 cups hot water

Mix all the ingredients together and knead well. Roll out until about " thick and make shapes with a cookie cutter. Bake it for 40 minutes at 350 degrees and let it cool for several hours until hard.

Bacon Flavored Biscuits

1 10oz. can beef consumme
3 tbsp. bacon fat
4 cups whole wheat flour
1/3 cup powdered milk
3/4 tsp baking powder
1 egg

Combine the ingredients and mix together. Roll out until " thick and bake for 40 minutes at 375 degrees. Let it set for several hours until hard.

Liver Treats
1 lb. chicken liver
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
3 tablespoons honey
cup parsley

Place the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Pour into a microwaveable container, about 7 to 8 inches wide. Microwave on high for about 8 minutes and remove from the container. Allow it to cool and harden a bit and then cut into squares.

Homemade Dog Food
2 lbs. hamburger
1 boiled potato
3 cups cooked rolled oats
1/4 cup spinach
1 cup cooked brown rice
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup brewers yeast
1 TBS minced garlic

Cook the hamburger and potato. Then combine the ingredients in a food processor and mince until fine. Roll into small balls and let it set for a couple of hours. Feed fresh daily.
