T Boone Pickens Plan is amazing. He plans to put billions in windpower which can easily supply our nation with 25% of our power needs in a ten year time frame. With the energy savings, he plans on eliminating home being heated by natural gas and instead use the natural gas to power our cars.
Many people believe that you have to buy a car that is already designed to run on natural gas or spend thousands to do a conversion. After buying a conversion kit I discovered that simply isn't the case. My conversion kit only cost me $129 and was very simple to install. It took me about an hour to do the whole thing. It was really simple. I have two grill tanks in my trunk and they hold the equivalent to about 12 gallons of natural gas. I've been using natural gas for about three months and decided to have it pumped into my house even though I don't need it for heat. I simply told them to run a line outside my house and stop by my garage. The gas is pressurized at about 20lbs so I bought a pump so that I could fill the tanks up at 100lbs of pressure. Now I simply go in my trunk and see what the pressure is on the tank. When it gets down to about 30lbs or so, I just fill it up!
My gas bill for last month was only 18 bucks. It costs more in the winter so waiting to see what its going to run then. Even if it were the same amount as gas, I get a certain pride knowing, as T Boone Pickens said, 98% of natural gas comes right here from America. So, I'm no longer contributing to those tyrant nations!
