Natural Joint Pain Relief - Finding Solutions

Instead of using synthetic drugs to deal with joint pain, you can choose to find natural solutions to the problem. Natural joint pain relief can come from herbs, massages, and changes to your normal diet. Eating right will do more than treat your joint pain; it also makes you feel less stressed and can be part of a treatment plan for lots of different health problems.

Herbs

Herbal sources of joint pain relief, whether it be in a drug or an herbal supplement, will always be completely natural. Inflamed joints and sore muscles can be effectively treated with the herbs ginger and arnica. Creams designed to relieve joint pain also contain these herbs and can be applied on the skin where the pain is occurring.

Supplements

Supplements of chondroitin and glucosamine can also be used to successfully reduce the pains associated with inflamed joints. The fluids that are needed to keep joints, bones, and cartilage lubricated can be effectively controlled by these ingredients. When these two specific supplements are used in conjunction on a regular basis, they can encourage the body to make new connective tissue and new cartilage, resulting in pain reduction.

The fluid that makes up cartilage is maintained by chondroitin which in turn makes joints more mobile. The protection of the cartilage means less joint pain as well. Antler velvet, which comes from domesticated animals, is a natural source of both glucosamine and chondroitin. This supplement boosts the body's stamina and strength while simultaneously shortening the amount of time it takes damaged joints to heal.

Liniments

Owing to the fact that liniments contain salicylates, which are taken from wintergreen oil, liniments cannot be considered to be 100% natural. Wintergreen oil is similar to aspirin in that it affects the body in the same way without any of the negative side effects associated with aspirin. After entering the skin, wintergreen oil stops feelings of pain.

One liniment that uses menthol to reduce soreness was made in China. This liniment masks pain from sore muscles by warming and stimulating the area where it is applied. It is important to keep in mind that this product can irritate the skin and should thus not be used on a regular basis.
