Moderation means that when you eat a reasonable portion and wait five minutes and you are satisfied. You can try this with someone else. Serve them a portion that is smaller than you think would be the right size for them. Have them eat it and then wait five minutes and ask if they want more. If they say no, they are satisfied and you have given them the right amount. If you stick with moderation in your diet, you will understand when your body is satisfied and it does not need any more food.
Exercise is a very important part of losing weight. You should pick exercises you like. One problem in today's world is there are so many people saying that you can only get in shape by doing what they tell you. Make the program yours. If you like basketball, then basketball will probably help you get into shape and lose weight. If you like running, then running it is. If you do not like treadmills, then stay away from them. If you like biking on a stationary bike, then use it. Make the exercise program fit for you and make sure it is something you enjoy. It could even be playing tag with your kids. As long as it is exercise and you enjoy it, it is going to work.
