Toluene is a derivative of coal tar or other petroleum that is commonly used in skin care cream as a fragrance. Anemia, liver and kidney damage, fetal injury, and lowered blood cell count have all been attributed to long term chronic exposure.

As we are living in the most scientifically advanced country in the world it is almost terrifying that the cosmetics companies are allowed to take such liberties with the health and well being of their trusting customers. The problem is that there is very little regulation that is applied to them.
