Tips to Find Out Albinism Symptoms on Time

Albinism is an inherited condition present at the time of birth; it is basically, a congenital disorder due to hereditary conditions. Albinism is an exceptional innate condition that is characterized mainly by a deficiency of pigment in the eyes, hair, and skin. People suffering from albinism have a lack of pigmentation in the eyes, which makes them look different from the normal people.

It is a serious disease and besides causing medical troubles, it has its social implications as well. Those suffering a severe form of albinism have complete vision impairment, as it caused due to the deficiency of melanin pigment that is necessary in order to have a normal vision.

The basic and initial symptoms of albinism include signs such as impaired vision, white eyes, blue eyes, pale skin, white skin, white hair, sun sensitive skin, farsightedness, nearsightedness, nystagmus, astigmatism and photophobia. The most common and easily recognizable albinism symptoms include:

Skin paleness: It may result in the form of white fingers, white patches, white nails, hypo-pigmentation, or whitening on the skin. This is mainly because people suffering from albinism, do not have the pigment in the skin, which is required for having normal skin color. In addition, the skin of these people does not have the pigment that prevents the skin from sun damage due to which they have such skin problems.

Hair: Albinism symptoms in the hair mainly reflect in the form of white hair, gray hair, hair loss, brittle hair, dry hair, hairiness, coarse hair, dandruff, baldness, temporary hair loss, and patchy hair loss.

Eye pigmentation: Mostly it is either in the form of total vision impairment, white eyes, or blue eyes.

All these albinism symptoms can easily recognized, though these symptoms cannot be cured per se but once recognized their effect can be significantly reduced.
