Why is it that we do not feel worthy enough of God's patience, love and due diligence to give us something wonderful - something we've fervently prayed for? Instead, we pray, then rush to get what it is we prayed for or try to take care of it ourselves. Who are we to try to take over something we have no power to change or alter?
God shows us his love - the magnitude of it - by presenting it - the answers we prayed for, the thing that brought us to our knees in supplication - to us with all splendor, not in a bag filled with rotten trash or in a rusty old can thrown away by the side of the road. Oh no! It is laced in beauty and wrapped in gold - at least that's what it would have looked like if we had not interfered as we humans tend to always want to do.
Let God answer your prayers. Don't take over the gift wrapping. He wants to surprise you; Let Him!
How now, this Faith?
"...count it all joy when you fall into various trials..knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience...If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God...But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."
James 1:2-8

She has definitely defied the odds and can speak from experience that "it's not about where you've been, but where you're going! Growing up poor in Stockton, CA with limited resources, she fought hard for the opportunity to attend college and barely escaped the hands of death at the age of eighteen when she attempted to take her own life to flee the harsh road and lies that were whispered into her spirit about her self-worth. The thought of her mother's hard work and struggle to give her and her siblings better opportunities superceded those lies and gave her the strength to press on and become the women she is today. As an African-American military veteran and prevailing entrepreneur, Rebekah knows her purpose is to give a voice to women from all walks of life. She is also a playwright, radio talk show host, motivational speaker, teacher, wife and mother. Visit http://rebekahpierce.synthasite.com to learn more.
